Florida Climate Week: Under the Florida Sun Screening & Conversation with USF College of Public Health Activist Lab

Presents the following screening and dialogue opportunity during Florida Climate Week

Tuesday, October 6th | 6pm-7pm EST.

The USF College of Public Health’s Activist Lab’s video, ”Under the Florida Sun” explores the topic of heat and its effects on Florida farmworkers and other outdoor workers.  Several public health, sustainability, and medical experts provide information about heat, changes to our climate, and the effects on the workers’ health and well-being.  Also, advocacy information is provided related to how to support positive change for farmworkers and outdoor workers now and into the future.  “Under the Florida Sun” has been the named a Webby nominee and is the recipient of a silver Telly award.

Dr. Karen Liller is presently the Chair of the Department of Community Health Sciences and a Distinguished USF Health Professor in the College of Public Health specializing in public health and injury prevention. Dr. Liller serves as Founder & Director of USF's Activist Lab

Manisha Katwal is a Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) student concentrating in Epidemiology at the University of South Florida College of Public Health (USF COPH). She currently serves as a Graduate Research Assistant with the USF COPH Activist Lab, contributing to research initiatives and the lab's ongoing projects.
