Join us for the 2017 Oral Health Florida Conference in Orlando, July 26-28, 2017: Oral Health Florida Bridges The Gap From Children To Seniors
This year, Oral Health Florida members and guests will be treated to a discussion on important oral health issues for both seniors and children. We are all invited to the Florida Department of Health programs on Thursday morning covering a number of important public health issues including community water fluoridation. In the afternoon, we will have presentations about senior oral health including a discussion of the Wisdom Tooth Project from Tina Montgomery of Oral Health America and the mounting effort to include dental benefit in Medicare. This will be followed by a session about advocacy for senior oral health and a group of short “Best Practice” presentations.
Beginning Friday morning, we will shift our focus to children’s oral health. Following a presentation on the status of children’s oral health in Florida, we will hear from the DentaQuest Foundation and their efforts to improve children's oral health. A session on best practices for school health programs will come from Laura Brey of the School-Based Health Alliance, followed by the University of Washington's Dr. Peter Milgrom who will discuss new technologies including the use of silver diamine fluoride. The morning will end with a presentation by Meg Booth from the Children’s Dental Health Project about improving our advocacy for children’s oral health. Lunch, recognition's and awards follow and then an important Oral Health Florida business meeting about proposed changes in how we operate. We look forward to seeing you in Orlando!
